1. How do I reset the Presence Sensor MS600?
Press and hold the button on the back of the device. Keep the button pressed continuously and do not release it until the indicator light flashes alternately between orange and green. Then release the button. The device is now reset.
2. How do I fix potential interferences when using the MS600?
Try to avoid placing objects such as plants or thick glass with metal between the sensor and the human body, as these could interfere with the radar frequency band. If this is unavoidable, use the "Detection Range" setting to block the detection range where interferences occur. This will effectively eliminate interference from the object. Note that the shielding distance refers to the detection range for the interfering object in the app, not the actual distance.
3. When people leave the room, the Presence Sensor still shows "Presence."
After people leave the room, the detection result will change to "Absence" after the set "Absence Confirmation Time." For example, the default setting of 30 seconds means that the detection result will change to "Absence" 30 seconds after people leave the room.
4. When people are not in the sensor's detection range, but the sensor incorrectly shows "Presence."
Check for any interferences in the room and remove them. If some interferences cannot be removed, you can use the "Detection Range" setting to block the detection range where the interference is. Note that the shielding distance refers to the detection range for the interfering object in the app, not the actual distance.
5. When people are within the detection range of the Presence Sensor, but the sensor incorrectly shows "Absence."
Check if any obstacles are blocking the 24 GHz electromagnetic waves between the sensor and the human body and remove them. If the human body is still not detected when no obstacles are present, adjust the angle of the sensor as much as possible so it points toward the chest of the human body.
6. The displayed distance of the human body is slightly inaccurate within 1.5 meters.
Since the radar emits waves and calculates the distance based on the reflected waves, numerous reflected waves and micro-movements can occur with a human body within 1.5 meters, which can lead to potential inaccuracies in the distance calculation. Therefore, it is advisable to set the distance closer to the outer boundary to increase stability, ideally between 2 meters and 5 meters.
7. Is there radiation when using the Presence Sensor MS600?
The radiation power is very low, comparable to that of Bluetooth, and complies with national certification standards, posing no danger to the human body.
8. If the Presence Sensor MS600 is used in a room with multiple moving objects, which object is detected?
To protect privacy, the system currently uses the object with the fastest movement or the largest movement amplitude within the range as the reference object.
9. What to do if the light intensity is too low or insensitive?
Lighting needs vary depending on the specific situation, activity, location, and personal preferences. The placement angle of lighting devices also significantly impacts light intensity. To prevent automation from being triggered by temporary brightness changes (such as people passing by or clouds), the device measures the light intensity over a certain period, calculates an average value, and then determines if the conditions are met. The provided light intensity values are relative to the actual scene and should be adjusted accordingly. If the values are still too low after adjustment, monitor the performance for a period and optimize the automation settings based on recorded data.
10. Which smart home platforms are supported by the Meross Presence Sensor MS600?
The Meross Presence Sensor supports Matter and allows connection via Apple, Google, and Amazon speakers without additional devices. With Matter, local connection and control through these three speaker brands can be achieved, resulting in lower latency and faster response.
11. What can be done with proximity and withdrawal automation, and what is the purpose of the detection range configuration?
You can set up automation for approaching and moving away from the sensor. For example, the light can get brighter when you approach the sensor. The detection range settings correspond to 1 meter, 2 meters, and 3 meters. Entering this range triggers an approach event, while leaving it triggers a withdrawal event.
12. What is the recommended installation height?
It is recommended to install the sensor at a height of 1.2 to 1.8 meters above the ground and aim it at the chest position of the target when standing still for long periods.
13. Does the device collect user room information?
No, this device does not collect user actions, sounds, images, or household information. It can be used with confidence.
14. What can the Meross Presence Sensor detect?
The Meross Presence Sensor can effectively determine the motion status of targets within the detection range, including presence, slight movement, and motion. It can also detect the current light intensity in front of the device with its light sensor.
15. How can pets, vacuum robots, or fans be prevented from triggering the Presence Sensor?
If the sensor is directed directly at the target, lift the front of the Meross Presence Sensor to make it as perpendicular to the ground as possible, minimizing false triggers. However, some vertical interference may still occur. Enable the "Only Biological Detection" mode in the Meross app settings. Additionally, you can install a pet shield on the device to block infrared fluctuations in the upper half of the range, effectively reducing false triggers caused by pets, vacuum robots, or fans.

Single Millimeter-Wave Radar:
Single PIR (Passive Infrared) Sensor:
19. What to do if the sensor is too sensitive or the detection range is too large?
You can adjust the detection distance or sensitivity of the sensor in the Meross app settings. Reducing the detection distance prevents movements outside this range from triggering the sensor. Lowering the sensitivity prevents small movements from triggering the sensor.
20. Does shortening the absence confirmation time affect battery life and detection performance?
Yes, it does. Shortening the minimum absence confirmation time can increase the frequency of presence detections, which reduces battery life. Additionally, a shorter confirmation time reduces the amount of data the sensor collects, which can affect detection accuracy and lead to an increased number of false negatives.
21. Is the Meross Presence Sensor waterproof and suitable for use in the bathroom?
The sensor is not waterproof. However, it can be used cautiously in the bathroom. Ensure it is not exposed to splashing water, dampness, or immersion in water.
22. Does the Meross Presence Sensor support the detection of multiple people?
The Meross Presence Sensor is designed with privacy in mind. It only detects the movement with the largest amplitude within its range and does not track the movements of multiple people. Unlike camera surveillance, it does not capture image data or collect information about the interior of buildings, ensuring maximum privacy protection for users.
23. The light parameter of the Meross Presence Sensor in the Alexa app cannot trigger automation scenes.
Meross Presence Sensors are compatible with Matter; however, Amazon's support for Matter is still in the adaptation phase. We recommend users configure automation through the Meross app or other third-party voice platforms.
24. Do Meross Presence Sensors support posture monitoring?
This feature is currently under development. However, based on competitive products and current tests, it does not yet meet Meross standards, so the release date is currently unspecified.
25. The LED light of the MS600 stays on even when the LED function is turned off.
The LED indicator shows the device's network connection status. However, some users have requested that the red indicator light (which indicates a connection loss) also be turned off when the LED function is disabled in the settings. Please update to the latest firmware, as this issue has already been resolved.
26. Can two presence sensors (of the same or different brands) be placed in the same room?
It is not recommended to use two or more presence sensors in the same area, as these sensors use millimeter-wave radar and emit signals that can interfere with each other.
