If you find the meross device shows “unreachable” or “not responding” in the app, some below hints may help you out of the situation.
1. Wi-Fi Signal
Meross app shows the Wi-Fi signal that the device is currently receiving. If you find the value is lower than 60%, try to relocate the device at another place.
2. Firmware
This includes Meross device firmware as well as your router firmware. We encourage you always make sure they are up to date to avoid any unexpected problems.
3. Wi-Fi channel
A congested channel can easily cause connection problems. Giving the router a different Wi-Fi channel (2.4GHz) may make the device work more stable.
4. Router capacity
Theoretically, a home router could have 254 devices connected to it, but in practice you’ll find most routers can handle far fewer connections. You can check with the manufacturer to see if it states a specific number but it can vary from as little as 10 (very unusual) to 150.
Adding a second router or access point can increase the number of clients that you can connect, you can also use mesh networks for better coverage.
5. Static IP address
Giving the smart device a static IP address can make it easily to be found on the network, and reduce lapses in connection.
6. A simple reboot
Sometimes when a router has been running for a long time, there’s some cache which may lead to router malfunctions and drops internet/Wi-Fi connection. To clear the cache you can simply reboot or reset the router (if it’s required).
